Red Hots Play Annual Concert At Mahopac Library MAHOPAC, N.Y. -- The Red Hots will perform the Mahopac Public Library's annual BAMM concert on Sunday, March 13.  The Danbury, Conn.-based group performs classic jazz standards, ragtime, old-blues tunes, swing and originals. The Red Hots will perform at 4 p.m. rather than at 2 p.m. to accommodate the St. Patrick's Day Parade.

North Salem Group Raises Funds For Putnam Humane Society NORTH SALEM. N.Y. -- The North Salem Middle School Student Forum is running a fundraiser for the Putnam Humane Society. To promote more donations, the admission to the dance on Feb. 26 is reduced from $5 to $2 with a donation. Donation boxes are located throughout the school.  The Putnam Human Society was founded in 1957 as one of the country's first no-kill, nonprofit animal shelters.

State Paid Monitors $176,200 To Scrutinize East Ramapo School District RAMAPO, N.Y. -- Three monitors were paid $176,200 by the state to analyze East Ramapo, one of New York's poorest school districts, according to lohud.com.
