Pleasantville native Jon Craig is special editor for the Westchester, Putnam, Rockland, Orange and Dutchess Daily Voice sites. He is also the primary reporter for Daily Voice Plus Politics in Westchester and Fairfield.

Jon graduated from Cornell University and received his master's degree in journalism from Northwestern University. Across a 35-year career, he's worked as a reporter for daily newspapers in Chicago, New York, Ohio & Washington, D.C and as managing editor for weekly newspapers in Rye, White Plains and Harrison.

Jon also writes periodically for the Cornell Chronicle.

Bronx Man Arrested For Trying To Steal Mail In Mercer County: Police A 30-year-old man from the Bronx was arrested by police in Mercer County for attempting to steal mail from a Post Office mailbox, authorities said. On Monday, July 17, Lawrence Township Police Detective Dean Sawasky was conducting surveillance in the area of the United States Post Office (Circle Branch) located at 2601 Brunswick Pike in Lawrenceville, police said. Propane Truck Crashes Into Chinese Restaurant, 3 Vehicles On Jersey Shore A tractor-trailer carrying propane tanks slammed into a Chinese restaurant at Berkeley Plaza after striking three other vehicles, authorities said. The crash occurred at about 7 a.m. on Wednesday, July 19, Berkeley Township police said. Photos of the crash scene were posted by Exit 80 Scanner News and Ocean County Scanner News. Philadelphia Man Charged In Fatal Shooting In South Jersey: Prosecutor A 23-year-old Philadelphia man has been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting in Camden, authorities said. Myles Nicholson was charged with first-degree murder and weapons offenses in the death of Stefan Shaw, 31, of Maple Shade, (Burlington County), according to Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. Alleged Serial Bank Robber, 67, Arrested On Jersey Shore: Police Lakewood police arrested a 67-year-old man in connection with a June bank robbery and attempted bank robbery, authorities said. Ivan Sevastianow, of Howell, was charged with robbing a TD Bank on June 30, Lakewood police said, and attempting to rob a local Wells Fargo bank. US Coast Guard Rescues Boater Off Cumberland County Coast, Local Firefighters Battle Blaze A boater whose craft caught fire was rescued by the U.S. Coast Guard and local firefighters off the Cumberland County coast, authorities said. Boat crews from Downe Township Fire Department, and Little Creek Fire Department responded to the 42-foot recreational boat fire in Delaware Bay, on Tuesday July 18. Jersey Shore Marine Who Died Suddenly 'Always Led Pack,' Boy Scout Leader Says An Iraq war veteran from the Jersey Shore who always led the pack as a young Boy Scout has died unexpectedly. Matthew J. Jantas of Neptune was 42 years old. The native of Perth Amboy served in the Marine Corps from 1999 to 2004, according to his obituary, and he rose to the rank of Lance Corporal.
