Pleasantville native Jon Craig is special editor for the Westchester, Putnam, Rockland, Orange and Dutchess Daily Voice sites. He is also the primary reporter for Daily Voice Plus Politics in Westchester and Fairfield.

Jon graduated from Cornell University and received his master's degree in journalism from Northwestern University. Across a 35-year career, he's worked as a reporter for daily newspapers in Chicago, New York, Ohio & Washington, D.C and as managing editor for weekly newspapers in Rye, White Plains and Harrison.

Jon also writes periodically for the Cornell Chronicle.

Driver Rescued From Marsh After Fleeing Atlantic City Expressway Crash: State Police A Westchester County, NY, man was arrested after he allegedly fled a crash on the Atlantic City Expressway, authorities said. Jerome Reed, 34, of Peekskill, was rescued about five hours after the crash from a nearby marsh and charged with eluding, New Jersey State Police said. Troopers were called to the single-vehicle crash at 1:08 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 1, Sgt. Philip Curry, a State Police spokesman, said. Rifle Seized, Trio Arrested On Drug Charges In Atlantic City: Police Three men were arrested in Atlantic City, including one wanted for shooting a gun, authorities said. On Monday, July 31, at 6:14 p.m., Officer John Bell allegedly saw Koron Still and two other men, Alim Tisdale and Melvin Young, in the 500 block of South Carolina Avenue, Atlantic City police said. Man, 33, Shot Dead In Camden A 33-year-old man from Pennsauken was shot dead in Camden early Tuesday, Aug. 1, authorities said. The shooting victim was identified as Freddy Alfonso, according to Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. MacAulay alongside Camden County Police Chief Gabriel Rodriguez. Police ID Bicyclist, 44, Struck, Killed In Central Jersey Crash Police have identified a 44-year-old bicyclist from Union County killed in a weekend crash in Middlesex Borough, authorities said. Darwin O. Mestanza Rivera, of Scotch Plains, died in the crash at 6:57 a.m. on Saturday, July 29, Middlesex Borough Police Chief Matthew P. Geist said. Seen Him? 15-Year-Old Boy Goes Missing In Camden A 15-year-old boy has gone missing in Camden, authorities said. Mason McDonel has been reported missing from his residence on the 1000 Block of Atlantic Avenue, according to Camden County police. He was last seen wearing a tan shirt and grey sweatpants. He is described as 5’6” tall and weighing 213 pounds with brown shoulder-length hair and brown eyes. He is known to frequent the area of 10th and Atlantic Avenue in Centerville, and the transportation centers. Driver, 55, Killed In Crash On Jersey Shore A 55-year-old man from Wall Township was killed in a three-car collision on the Jersey Shore, authorities said. 18-Year-Old Killed In Head-On Atlantic County Crash: Police An 18-year-old driver from Egg Harbor City was killed in a head-on crash in Hamilton Township, authorities said. Jamyre Dewey Jr. was traveling east on Route 40 at 7:54 p.m. on Sunday, July 30 when his Mitsubishi Galant crossed the center line and crashed into a westbound Toyota Highlander, Hamilton Township police said. Jumper's Body Recovered Near Driscoll Bridge Along Garden State Parkway: Njsp The body of a man who jumped off the Garden State Parkway's Driscoll Bridge was recovered from the Raritan River, authorities said. Troopers were advised of a motorist stopped on the parkway northbound at MP 127.5 in Woodbridge at 6:55 a.m. Monday, July 31, New Jersey State Police said. As police arrived, a man exited the vehicle and jumped over the side of the bridge, State Police said.
