Jon graduated from Cornell University and received his master's degree in journalism from Northwestern University. Across a 35-year career, he's worked as a reporter for daily newspapers in Chicago, New York, Ohio & Washington, D.C and as managing editor for weekly newspapers in Rye, White Plains and Harrison.

Photo Captures Arson Suspect Pouring Gasoline On SUV In South Jersey: Police Authorities have released a photo of an arson suspect pouring gasoline on an SUV. Detectives from the Haddonfield Police Department and Camden County Prosecutor’s Office are investigating the arson incident on Concord Circle that occurred early Saturday morning, Oct. 21. "We are releasing the suspect's picture," police said. if you have any information, please call the non-emergency number, 856-429-3000, and ask for Det. Sgt. Ortiz. No additional information will be released at this time because this is an active investigation.

Jersey Shore Man Sent Texts With Racial Slurs, Threats: Prosecutor A 44-year-old man from Ocean County is accused of texting another man with racial slurs and threats, authorities said. Walter Maxim, of Beachwood, was charged with three counts of bias intimidation, terroristic threats, stalking, and harassment, according to Ocean County First Assistant Prosecutor Michael T. Nolan. Atlantic City Detective Suspended After Allegedly Eluding Police An Atlantic City detective has been suspended after a car registered to him eluded police, authorities said. Detective Fariyd Holmes' reckless driving on Sept. 21 included running red lights, weaving in and out of traffic and nearly hitting an Atlantic City police cruiser head-on, according to a criminal complaint against him. Jersey Shore Man Charged With Bias Intimidation After Puncturing Tires At 7-Eleven: Prosecutor A 33-year-old Brick Township man has been charged with bias intimidation after an incident at a 7-Eeven store, authorities said. Atlantic City Felon Sentenced On Assault, Handgun Offenses: Prosecutor A 30-year-old man from Atlantic City was sentenced to 10 years in New Jersey State Prison for assault and weapons offenses, authorities said. Tajideen Austin was sentenced on Monday, Oct. 23, according to the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office. On July 23, 2022, the Atlantic City Police Department responded to a report of a shooting. Atlantic City Man Gets 7 Years For Dealing Cocaine: Prosecutor A 20-year-old man from Atlantic City was sentenced to seven years in New Jersey State Prison for dealing cocaine and a weapons offense, authorities said. Authorities Seek Tips In Fatal 2016 Shooting On Jersey Shore Authorities are looking for anyone with information regarding who may have been responsible for the fatal shooting of a Bradley Beach man seven years ago. On Feb. 8, 2016, at 8:18 p.m., Neptune Township Police Department responded to 1306 7th Avenue, Neptune Township for a report of a shooting. Coast Guard Suspends Search For Missing Kayaker In NJ Waters The U.S. Coast Guard has suspended its search for a missing kayaker off Keyport in Raritan Bay, authorities said. The search was suspended at 6 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 24. The search for Zhenjiang Ding, 74, began after his kayak began taking on water Monday afternoon, the Coast Guard said. The Coast Guard said it searched approximately 129 square nautical miles for over 37 search hours, with no signs of Ding. NJ Transit Train Strikes Car On Jersey Shore A New Jersey Transit train struck a car on the Jersey Shore, authorities said. At 7:32 a.m., North Jersey Coast Line train 3224 crashed into the car at the Bethany Road crossing in Hazlet. The car's motorist was not hurt. No injuries were reported to the approximately 150 customers or the crew on board at the time. The train departed Long Branch at 7:10 a.m. and was scheduled to arrive at Penn Station New York at 8:41 a.m. Customers from train 3224 were being transferred to a following train. New Jersey Transit Police are on scene leading the investigation.

Seen HIM? 21-Year-Old South Jersey Man Goes Missing Police in South Jersey seek the public's help in locating a 21-year-old man who went missing on Saturday, Oct. 21. Ian Colon was reported missing from the Somerdale Section of Gloucester Township, police said. He is 5'-10" tall and weighs 145 pounds.
