Joe Lombardi, Daily Voice's Managing Editor, has spent his professional career as a newsroom director, manager, editor, producer, writer, reporter and broadcaster who has worked at major websites, television networks, newspapers, magazines and radio stations and as a book author.

The Manhattan native, Irvington (NY) High School and University of Dayton graduate has been actively involved in web publishing for more than 25 years. In addition, he also has expertise in marketing, public relations and social media.

Lombardi rejoined Daily Voice in September 2013 as managing editor after serving as sports editorial consultant from August 2011 through January 2012. He was named to oversee editorial operations in the fall of 2017.

Hurricane Ian Nears Category 5 Status As It Takes Aim On US, Projected Path Changes Ian has strengthened to Category 4 hurricane status and its projected path has changed as it nears a direct hit on the southwest Florida coast with the potential to be one of the most devastating and costly storms in US history. Man Killed After Being Struck By FedEx Truck On LI Expressway Service Road In North Hills A man was killed after being struck by a FedEx truck on a Long Island Expressway service road. The crash happened around 9 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 27 in North Hills. The 56-year-old man was riding his bicycle westbound on the North Service Road of the LIE when he was struck by the truck near the intersection of Searingtown Road, Nassau County Police said. The victim sustained serious injuries and was pronounced dead at scene by a Nassau County Police Medic. His identity has not yet been released. Neighbor Charged After Fatal House Fire In Hempstead A neighbor has been charged after a fatal house fire on Long Island. The blaze broke out around 6:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 26 in Hempstead. Emergency responders raced to the scene at 103 Front St. Upon arrival, they observed the house to be fully engulfed in flames due to a fire that started in a second-floor bedroom, Nassau County Police said. Tornado Touched Down In NY During Severe Round Of Storms A tornado touched down in New York during a round of severe according to the National Weather Service. The twister was confirmed on Long Island, in Mattituck in Suffolk County on Sunday night, Sept. 25, the National Weather Service said. It touched down around 11:15 p.m. Sunday and lasted until about 11:20 p.m., traveling about 2 miles. It was an EF-0 tornado with estimated wind speeds of around 85 miles per hour.
