Man Caught With 14 Grams Of Cocaine After Traffic Stop In Region, Police Say A routine traffic stop in the region ended with a man in handcuffs. Troopers stopped the man in Orange County, on I-87 in New Windsor, Thursday, May 5, for a vehicle and traffic violation, New York State Police said. After searching the vehicle, the trooper found approximately 14 grams of cocaine, police said. The 52-year-old driver, Marco Smith, of South Glens Falls in Saratoga County, was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, a felony. He was released and ordered to appear back at the Town of New Windsor Court Thursday, May 26.

Plans For Capital District's First Costco Move Forward After Court Ruling, Report Says Plans to build the Capital District’s first Costco are moving forward after an environmental group trying to block the project lost in court, the Albany Business Review reports. Man Armed With Broken Bottle Robs Long Island Gas Station Employee, Police Say A man is behind bars, accused of robbing a Long Island gas station employee. It happened early Friday, May 6, at the Sunoco station in Inwood, on Burnside Avenue, according to Nassau County Police. The male suspect walked into the store at around 2:30 a.m., grabbed a glass bottle, smashed it on the counter, and then used it to threaten the 32-year-old male worker, police said. Doctor From Capital District Admits To Filing False Tax Returns A doctor from the Capital District is facing prison time after admitting to filing false tax returns, the US Attorney’s Office said. Ehab Kodsi, age 56, of Watervliet, pleaded guilty to the charge Wednesday, May 4, in Albany federal court. Prosecutors said between 2015 and 2018, Kodsi underreported revenue from both his pain management clinic in Queensbury, in Warren County, and his real estate company. Seen Him? Statewide Alert Issued For Wanted NY Man Police are asking for help locating a wanted New York man. Capital District resident Shawn Guilbault, age 26, is wanted on a bench warrant out of Rensselaer County for charges stemming from an alleged vehicle theft, New York State Police said. The theft reportedly occurred in Schaghticoke in September 2021. He is wanted on grand larceny and identity theft charges, police said. 29-Year-Old From Region Sentenced For Distributing, Receiving Child Porn Images, Videos A man from the region will spend the next decade in federal prison for possessing child pornography. Ulster County resident Anthony Hadden, age 29, of Modena, was sentenced Friday, April 29 to 121 months behind bars after pleading guilty to possessing, distributing, receiving, and transporting child pornography, the US Attorney’s Office said. Alert Issued For Suspect In SUV Wanted After Hit-Run Long Island Crash Police on Long Island need the public’s help finding a hit-and-run driver who struck a pedestrian in Brookhaven. The victim was walking on Neighborhood Road in Mastic Beach at around 8 p.m. Thursday, April 21, when he was struck by a dark-colored SUV, Suffolk County Police said.
