Weeks Of Full Closures Planned For Portion Of Northern State Parkway Scheduled roadwork could spell delays for Long Island drivers in the coming weeks. The westbound lanes of the Northern State Parkway are scheduled to close overnight between Exit 42 and Exit 40 in Huntington for three weeks, beginning on Monday, Oct. 23. The roadway will close nightly from 10 p.m. until 5 a.m. while crews complete a pavement resurfacing project, according to the Department of Transportation. Both directions of the Long Island Expressway are scheduled to close nightly at Exit 48 in the towns of Oyster Bay and Huntington, beginning Monday, Oct. 23. Conman Steals $200K In Gold Coins From Massachusetts Estate, Feds Say A Connecticut man is facing federal charges for allegedly swindling a Western Massachusetts estate out of hundreds of thousands of dollars in gold coins. William Dawson, age 51, was indicted on fraud charges by a federal grand jury in Worcester on Wednesday, Oct. 18. According to prosecutors, Dawson met with an employee of a home cleanout business in January 2023 after the company was hired by an estate in Shrewsbury. Donut Pass Go: Dunkin' Burglar Gets Prison For Repeated Break-Ins At Long Island Businesses An admitted burglar will spend years in prison for breaking into multiple Dunkin’ Donuts on Long Island and stealing money. Christopher Volpe, age 44, of Patchogue, was sentenced to four to nine years behind bars in Suffolk County Court on Thursday, Oct. 19, for his role in several Dunkin’ burglaries around the county.
