Bethel Police Seek Public's Help In Identifying ATM Skimming Suspect BETHEL, Conn. -- Bethel police are asking the public’s help in identifying a suspect in an ATM-skimming case, according to a report in The Danbury News Times. The suspect, who police say planted an “all-in-one” device in Bethel, is linked to two other skimming cases in New York City in August, the report said. According to the Bethel police's Facebook page, the Bethel device was discovered and removed before the suspect returned to retrieve it, the story said. Danbury Researchers Say Omega-3 Acids May Cut Diabetics' Heart Risks BROOKFIELD, Conn. -- Taking certain types of fatty acids appears to cut heart risks in people with type-2 diabetes, according to a new study by researchers at Western Connecticut Health Network in Brookfield. The study, published in BMJ Open Diabetes Research & Care, found taking 1,000 mg of omega-3 fatty acids via daily krill oil supplements appears to decrease the risk of cardiovascular disease. The Western Connecticut Health Network includes Danbury Hospital and Norwalk Hospital.  Many people eat fatty fish, such as tuna, salmon, and trout, or take fish oil supplements to meet this …

East Fishkill Police Officer Helps Save Live Of Dutchess Deputy's Mother HOPEWELL JUNCTION, N.Y. -- An East Fishkill police officer recently helped save the life of the mother of a Dutchess County sheriff’s deputy, police said. On Monday, Dec. 7, Officer Tina Amorim responded to a 911 call at a Hopewell Junction residence where she found an unconscious 71-year-old woman. Along with the victim’s son, Amorim used CPR and an electronic defibrillator to resuscitate her, police said. They continued treatment until the East Fishkill EMS and Mobile Life paramedics arrived to take over. The woman, who police did not identify, is said to be recovering in a Poughkeepsie…
