Ridgefield Police To Crack Down On Texting Motorists RIDGEFIELD, Conn. -- The Ridgefield Police Department has launched the "U DRIVE. U TEXT. U PAY." initiative to crack down on texting while driving.  Ridgefield Police will have extra patrols looking for cellphone and texting violations on different days throughout April.  The fines for violating Connecticut's cellphone and texting law ranges from $150 for a first offense to $300 for a second offense and $500 for each subsequent incident.  Funding for the initiative came through the Connecticut Department of Transportation's Highway Safety Office.

Dutchess County Students Compete In Leadership Conference DUTCHESS COUNTY, N.Y. -- Dozens of students across the Hudson Valley participated in the 2016 New York State Leadership Conference and Competition in Owego, N.Y. last week. Students participated in leadership building activities, developed important life skills and participated in individual or team competitive events. Five students from Millbrook Central School District attended the conference and earned the highest scores in their respective events. All qualified for nationals.
