Michael G. McQuaid, 64, Fairview Resident
FAIRVIEW, N.J. -- Michael G. McQuaid, of Fairview, died on Oct. 16. He was 64.
Born in Ireland, McQuaid came to the United States in 1972. He was the owner of Jerry's Custom Floors, in Fairview.
He is survived by his wife, Ellen (Kelly) McQuaid; sons Michael and Timmy McQuaid; grandson Declan; nine brothers; and many other family and friends.

Salvatore Iurato, 90, Hackensack Resident
HACKENSACK, N.J. -- Salvatore Iurato, of Hackensack, died on Thursday, Oct. 13. He was 90.
A U.S. Army veteran, Iurato worked for the Hackensack Water Company and as a Fred Astaire dance instructor using his professional name, Jim Kent, for over 30 years.
After he retired, he co-owned the Churchtown Inn Bed & Breakfast in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. He was a member of the Valley Singers and the Stuart W. Smith Singers.
Iurato was predeceased by his sister, Providence Cunningham.

Johnson was born and raised in Detroit. His brother, Alex, excelled in both baseball in high school, and so did Ron, though Alex ultimately pursued baseball, signing with the Philadelphia Phillies out of high school.

Enjoy Pancakes With Rochelle Park Vets, Benefit Kids With Autism
ROCHELLE PARK, N.J. -- Come enjoy a pancake breakfast in Rochelle Park on Sunday, Dec. 11, as two local American Legion posts partner to raise funds for Autism Speaks.Rochelle Park's Post 170 and Lodi's Post 136 are working together on the event.
The breakfast menu will include pancakes, eggs, sausage, crumb cake, juice, tea and coffee. The cost is $5 at the door, and kids under 6 get in free.
The fundraiser also includes a tricky tray and a 50/50 raffle. One local woman noted on the Facebook event page that she's busy crocheting a blanket in the Autism Speaks logo colors.
