Stamford Man Hospitalized For Smoke Inhalation STAMFORD — A resident of an apartment on Atlantic Street wound up in Yale New Haven Hospital Monday for smoke inhalation, the Stamford Advocate has reported, after his landlord found him lying on the landing of the second floor. A fire had begun inside the man's apartment, according to the Stamford Advocate, and Chief Fire Marshall Charles Spaulding said the fire's cause is still being investigated. Born in Ossining, Jackson graduated from Ossining High School. She worked for Reader's Digest in Pleasantville for 10 years and was a sales associate for JCPenney for 19 years. She retired in 1992. Jackson was a den mother, a volunteer for Meals on Wheels and the Maxwell Memorial Library in Camillus, and a founding member of Immanuel United Methodist Church.
