Cornucopia Band Kicks Off Allendale's Concert Series Saturday
ALLENDALE, N.J. -- The Gazebo Summer Concert Series kicks off this Saturday, June 18, with jazz quartet Cornucopia Live.The free concerts will be outside the Lee Memorial Library. All concerts start at 1 p.m. and last an hour. Bring your own chairs and blankets.
Subsequent shows include a Carole King tribute band on Saturday, July 16, and Soul Groove -- a '70s Motown band -- on Saturday, August 6.

John J. Wrobel, 78, Oakland Resident
OAKLAND, N.J. -- John J. Wrobel, of Oakland, died on Wednesday, June 15. He was 78.
Wrobel was president of Hewitt Robbins Inc., in Passaic.
He is survived by his wife, Dolores (De Condo) Wrobel, and his son, John.
Visiting hours will be from 7-9 p.m. on Monday, June 20, at the Oakland Memorial Home, 330 Ramapo Valley Rd., in Oakland. Cremation will be private.
Frances J. (McHale) Loughran, 89, Paramus Resident
PARAMUS, N.J. -- Frances J. (McHale) Loughran, of Paramus, died on Wednesday, June 15. She was 89.
Loughran was a parishioner of the Church of the Annunciation, in Paramus, and a member of the Rosary Society.
She is survived by her children, George Loughran of Wood-Ridge, James Loughran and his wife Maureen of Hobe Sound, Florida, Robert Loughran of Paramus, and Jean Marie Loughran of Paramus; daughter-in-law Dorothy Loughran of Flower Mount, Texas; grandchildren Justin, Ryan, Shane, Haley, Nicole, Trevor, Jason and James; and great-grandchildren Justin, Chloe, Ethan, Caden and Evan.

Come Celebrate With Hawthorne FD On Its First 100 Years
HAWTHORNE, N.J. -- The Hawthorne Fire Dept. is hosting a community celebration on Saturday, June 18, to mark 100 years of volunteer service to the residents of Hawthorne and surrounding communities.
The festivities will include beer, soda and food, as well as music and entertainment for kids -- including a fire truck slide and display of fire trucks.
The department will also be selling commemorative shirts, coins, books, mugs and more.
The event will be from noon until 5 p.m. on the grounds of the Bottagra Restaurant, 80 Wagaraw Rd., in Hawthorne.
