Stamford Board Of Realtors Tops $11K In Walk For Alzheimer's STAMFORD, Conn. -- The Stamford Board of Realtors Team raised more than $11,000 in the Connecticut Chapter of Alzheimer's Association Walk For Alzheimer's. Sunday's walk in Norwalk was the largest ever for the Connecticut Chapter. The Realtors raked in $11,402, the fifth highest figure of the 215 teams in the walk. The walk raised more than $400,000 to eliminate Alzheimer's disease through the advancement of research; to provide and enhance care and support for all affected, and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health. Norwalk Youth Wrestling Team Hits The Mats For New Season NORWALK, Conn. -- The Norwalk Youth Wrestling program will launch its new season with its first practice on Monday Oct. 19, at Norwalk High School. Practices are held Monday, Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 5:45 p.m to 7:30 p.m. in the Norwalk High School wrestling room. The season runs from mid-October through March 2016. Danbury Flyer Runners Run Well At Cross Country Race In Bethel DANBURY, Conn. --- Danbury's youth cross country team represented the city well at the Bethel Pumpkin Run at Bethel Middle School. Danbury took second place while the Flyer boys took fourth. Valerie Fox was the leading scorer for the Flyer girls, securing fourth place overall with a time of 10:41 on the challenging 1.5 mile course. Codd Leads New Canaan Blazers Boys To Win At Brewster Invitational NEW CANAAN, Conn. -- Bart Codd of the New Canaan Blazers youth cross country team won the individual title and the Blazers took home the team crown Saturday at the Brewster Bear Invitational in New York. Codd covered the 2,500 meter course in 9:23:10 as the Blazers put five runners among the top 11. Brendon Mulvaney was fifth overall, followed by Dylan Imbruce (eighth), Christian Meyer (ninth) and Billy Bennett (11th). New Canaan easily won the team crown, compiling 29 points. Norwalk River Rowing Wins 2 Golds At Riverfront Regatta NORWALK, Conn. -- Rowing into a tough headwind from the north and an equally strong current, the Norwalk River Rowing Association’s Youth team won five medals, including three golds, and the Masters team won two gold medals, in the Head of the Riverfront Regatta in Hartford on Sunday.
