Jon graduated from Cornell University and received his master's degree in journalism from Northwestern University. Across a 35-year career, he's worked as a reporter for daily newspapers in Chicago, New York, Ohio & Washington, D.C and as managing editor for weekly newspapers in Rye, White Plains and Harrison.

Jon also writes periodically for the Cornell Chronicle.

Woman Killed In Jersey Shore Apartment Fire A woman was killed in an apartment fire at the Jersey Shore early Wednesday, Nov. 15, according to the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office. The fire broke out around 6:20 a.m. at Evergreen Terrace Apartments in Red Bank, a public housing complex off Drs. James Parker Boulevard, authorities said. A source said the woman was about 90 years old. News12.com said the fire victim had an oxygen tank in her possession. Motorcyclist, 65, Killed In South Jersey Crash A 65-year-old motorcyclist was ejected and killed in a Burlington County crash, authorities said. Barry Schwartz was traveling east on Route 532 in Woodland when his motorcycle veered off the road, struck a guide rail and flipped, according to Trooper Troy McNair, a New Jersey State Police spokesman.
