Joe Lombardi, Daily Voice's Managing Editor, has spent his professional career as a newsroom director, manager, editor, producer, writer, reporter and broadcaster who has worked at major websites, television networks, newspapers, magazines and radio stations and as a book author.

The Manhattan native, Irvington (NY) High School and University of Dayton graduate has been actively involved in web publishing for more than 25 years. In addition, he also has expertise in marketing, public relations and social media.

Lombardi rejoined Daily Voice in September 2013 as managing editor after serving as sports editorial consultant from August 2011 through January 2012. He was named to oversee editorial operations in the fall of 2017.

ID Released For Person Killed In DWI Long Island Crash A man killed in a Long Island crash involving a drunk driver has been identified by police. Port Jefferson Station resident Jason Hank, age 24, was driving a 2009 Toyota Corolla northbound on Route 112, approximately 1,000 feet south of Pine Road in Coram when he struck a man shortly after 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 12, Suffolk County Police said. The victim, now ID'd as Glenn Ohlinger, age 66, of Coram, was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner. Suspect At Large After Long Island Bank Robbery Detectives are investigating a robbery that occurred at a Long Island bank. A man entered Chase Bank, located in Copiague at 895 Merrick Road, at approximately 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 13, and handed a teller a note demanding cash, Suffolk County Police said. The teller complied with the suspect’s demands and gave him cash from the drawer, said police. The robber fled on foot in an unknown direction. Woman Struck, Killed By Compact SUV At Long Island Parking Lot An investigation is underway after a woman was struck and killed by a compact SUV at a Long Island parking lot. The incident happened around 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 13 in Deer Park. Anita Levitt, age 80, of Deer Park, was parked in a handicapped parking space in front of 1944 Deer Park Ave. when she lost control of her 2020 Toyota Rav4, hopped two curbs and entered the rear parking lot of 1948 Deer Park Ave., Suffolk County Police said. NY Man Accused Of Keeping Exotic Animals In Unsafe Conditions A man has been accused of keeping a sloth and a wallaby in unsafe and unsatisfactory conditions in his New York home. The United States Department of Agriculture cited Long Island resident Larry Wallach after searching his East Rockaway home and allegedly found a sloth living in an enclosure in his garage during the June 2021 inspection. ID Released For Man Killed In Helicopter Crash Near Mountain In Hudson Valley The identity has been released of a man who was killed in a helicopter crash in the Hudson Valley. The crash happened in Orange County in the town of Cornwall at about 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 10 near Storm King Mountain and Route 218. The pilot of the helicopter, Long Island resident Arthur Charych, age 73, of Setauket in Suffolk County, was pronounced dead at the scene, New York State Police announced Monday morning, Oct. 11. Person Dies After Being Struck By Van Near Long Island Intersection A person was killed after being struck by a vehicle near a Long Island intersection overnight. It happened around 4:35 a.m. Monday, Oct. 11 in New Cassel. A 65-year-old man was operating a gray van westbound on Old Country Road near Hilton Street, when it struck a pedestrian in the roadway, Nassau County Police said.
