CT State Trooper Suspended Pending Sexual Assault Investigation A Connecticut State Trooper has been taken off the force amid accusations of sexual assault. Constables in New Haven County were called to a home on Old Field Road in Southbury at around 1:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 27. When they arrived, an individual at the home made allegations against Jose Campos, a Connecticut State Trooper, according to police. Fire Chief Hospitalized Following Commercial Blaze In Capital District A Capital District fire chief is recovering after a large blaze at a vacant business sent him to the hospital. In Rensselaer County, flames broke out at around 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 27, at the former Servidone Construction building, located on Route 9 in Schodack. 3 Pets Killed In House Fire In Capital District A Capital District family is mourning the loss of several pets that were killed in a house fire. Flames broke out at the Schenectady home at around 8:45 a.m. Sunday, July 24, on Cutler Street in the Mont Pleasant neighborhood. When firefighters arrived, they were told that one person was unaccounted for and that there were three pets still inside the home, according to the Schenectady Fire Department. Turn Off Your Phone: School Superintendent In Hudson Valley Outlines New Policy Come September, students in one New York school district will no longer be able to use their cell phones during the school day. In Orange County, the Enlarged City School District of Middletown announced a “refreshed” set of expectations regarding cell phone use in schools for the 2022-2023 school year. Albany resident Christopher Pratt, age 58, was sentenced to 12 years behind bars Tuesday, July 26, in federal court in Albany.
