This Westchester High School Ranks Among Top 20 Statewide, New Report Says A high school in Westchester County is among the top 20 in New York, according to a new ranking from the school review site Niche. Scarsdale Senior High School, in the Scarsdale Union Free School District, was ranked No. 13 out of 1,255 public high schools in the state with an overall grade of A+. It was also ranked No. 1 in best public high schools in Westchester County. Capital Region Man Repeatedly Punched 5-Month-Old Dog In Head, Police Say A man from the region is facing animal cruelty charges after he was allegedly caught on video punching a 5-month-old dog. Albany County resident Jordan France, age 30, of the village of Green Island, was arrested following an investigation by the Green Island Police Department. Officers were contacted Wednesday, Oct. 5, by a concerned citizen who claimed that France was captured on her video surveillance repeatedly punching the Australian Shepard in the head and neck area. One Person Injured In Small Plane Crash On Capital Region Lake One person is recovering after a small plane crashed into a Capital Region lake, authorities said. Emergency crews in Fulton County were called just before noon Sunday, Oct. 9, with reports of an accident involving a small, single engine plane on Great Sacandaga Lake, near the town of Mayfield. Police Seek Long Island Convenience Store Robber Who Claimed To Have Gun Police are asking for help locating a man who robbed a Long Island convenience store while claiming to have a gun. The incident occurred at the 7/11 store on Grand Avenue in Baldwin at around 11:40 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 9, according to Nassau County police. Investigators said the suspect walked into the store with his hand under his shirt, gesturing that he had a gun. 1 Person Injured In Shooting On Bee-Line Bus In Yonkers (Developing) Police are on the scene of a reported shooting on a transit bus in Westchester County Friday evening, Oct. 7.
