Emergency crews were called at around 9:40 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 22, with reports of a two-car crash in West Babylon, on Route 109 near Platt Avenue, according to Suffolk County Police. A preliminary investigation found that 63-year-old Frank Motta, of Babylon, was driving eastbound in the westbound lanes of Route 109 when he struck an oncoming BMW head-on. Body Found In River Where 14-Year-Old NY Girl Disappeared Months Ago This story has been updated. A community in upstate New York is bracing for the worst after a human body was pulled from the same river where a 14-year-old girl disappeared months earlier. The body was discovered Wednesday afternoon, Feb. 22, in Schenectady’s Mohawk River, near Riverside Park on Front Street, police told Daily Voice. Crash Involving Police Officer Leaves 1 Dead In Capital Region A man is dead following a car crash involving a police vehicle in the region. The Rensselaer County crash happened shortly before 1 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 22, in Troy near Hoosick and 15th streets, according to Troy Police. Investigators said a Troy Police officer was responding to a domestic disturbance call with lights and sirens on when he collided with a civilian vehicle. Woman Uses Stolen Property, ID To Score Cash From Long Island Pawn Shop, Police Say A 40-year-old woman is accused of using another person’s identity to pawn stolen goods at a Long Island business, authorities said. Jacqueline Nollman Hubbard, age 40, of Hauppauge, was arrested Tuesday, Feb. 21 near a pawn shop in Lindenhurst, according to Suffolk County Police.
