Stabbing At Convenience Store In Capital Region Lands 22-Year-Old In Hospital A 22-year-old man is recovering after being stabbed at a convenience store in the region. The incident happened at around 7:20 p.m. Saturday, March 11, at the Cumberland Farms in Hoosick Falls, located on Church Street, according to Hoosick Falls Police. Arriving officers found the victim suffering from a stab wound and applied a tourniquet to control the bleeding, police said. The victim was taken by ambulance to the Pittstown Fire Station and was then flown to Albany Medical Center for treatment. Nobody else was injured. Tips Sought After Burglar Steals $2K From Long Island Restaurant Police are asking for tips after someone broke into a Long Island restaurant and stole thousands of dollars. The incident occurred sometime between midnight and 7 a.m. Tuesday, March 7, at Westbury’s Chicken Delight, located on Maple Avenue, according to Nassau County Police. Detectives said the suspect entered the restaurant through an unlocked front door. They then damaged a door and the coin machine before stealing approximately $2,000 in cash. Registered Sex Offender From Capital Region Rapes Child Under Age 13, Police Say A registered sex offender from the region is accused of sexually assaulting a child. Saratoga County resident James Forgett, age 52, of Malta, was arrested Friday, March 3, following an investigation by State Police. Troopers were initially contacted in August 2022 with a report that an adult had physical and sexual contact with a child. Investigators determined that Forgett had sexual intercourse with a child beginning in 2017, when the victim was under the age of 13, police said.
