Police Department In Westchester Given New E-Bike To Aid Community Policing A Westchester police department has been given a new E-Bike to help them in their patrols. The E-Bike was given to the Yonkers Police Department on Wednesday, Oct. 19 by the Yonkers Downtown/Waterfront Business Improvement District, which wanted to give back to the city's police, according to a Facebook post from the group. Over 80 Westchester County Sex Offenders To Be Kept Off Streets On Halloween Westchester County officials have put together a program to help keep sex offenders off the street during peak trick-or-treating hours. On Monday, Oct. 31 from 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m., the county will require more than 80 registered and non-registered sex offenders on probation to attend a program at the Westchester County Courthouse in White Plains. No Late Night Frights: Yonkers Issues Curfew For Halloween Trick-or-treaters in a Westchester County city are being issued curfews by police to prevent them from being out too late. Police in Yonkers have issued a citywide curfew for children 16 and younger for Halloween night on Monday, Oct. 31, according to authorities. Lane Of I-84 In Hudson Valley To Close For A Week A lane of a busy highway in the region will close for most of the day over the span of a week. A lane of I-84 eastbound and westbound will close between Exit 52 (Taconic State Parkway) in the Dutchess County town of East Fishkill and Exit 68 (Interstate 684) in the Putnam County town of Southeast beginning on Monday, Oct. 31, and lasting until Friday, Nov. 3, New York Department of Transportation officials said. The lane will close between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. each day to allow for bridge maintenance, officials said.

Construction Of 477-Unit Apartment Building In New Rochelle To Begin Work on a new 477-unit apartment complex in Westchester County will soon begin. The new complex, to be located in New Rochelle at 500 Main Street (Route 1), will contain apartments ranging from studios to two-bedroom homes, as well as a fitness center, lounge, pool, roof deck, and on-site parking, according to New Rochelle city officials.
