Vehicle Rolls Over In Croton-On-Hudson, Driver Emerges Unscathed One person escaped from a serious-looking vehicle rollover in Northern Westchester without any major injuries. On Wednesday, Dec. 14, just before 10 a.m., firefighters in Croton-on-Hudson responded to an accident on Mount Airy Road near Georgia Lane and found that a car had rolled over, according to the Croton-on-Hudson Fire Department. Fire Blazes Through 3-Story Home In Rye While Firefighters Comb It For Residents A residence in Westchester County is heavily damaged after flames ripped through it. On Wednesday, Dec. 14 just after 9:30 p.m., firefighters in Rye responded to a house fire in the area of Grapal Street, according to the Rye Fire Department. Sale Of Dogs, Cats, Rabbits In Stores Banned In NY Pet Stores In an effort to end the "puppy mill pipeline," New York has banned pet stores from selling dogs, cats, and rabbits. The legislation, which was signed into law on Thursday, Dec. 15, will prohibit the sale of these animals in pet stores across the state and instead encourage them to make space available to show pets up for adoption, according to Assemblymember Linda B. Check Fraud In White Plains Under Investigation By Police A police department in Westchester County is giving residents tips to avoid having their mail stolen in light of numerous incidents of check fraud. The White Plains Police Department is warning residents that checks can be stolen from both personal and US Postal mailboxes and altered, similar to many recent incidents that authorities are currently investigating, police said. Person Escapes Without Serious Injuries After Rollover Accident In Croton-On-Hudson One person is lucky to have walked away without serious injuries after their vehicle flipped over on a highway in Northern Westchester. On Tuesday, Dec. 13 around 5:30 a.m., firefighters in Croton-on-Hudson came across a rolled-over vehicle on Route 9 southbound, according to the Croton-on-Hudson Fire Department. Although the accident looked serious, the driver declined any medical assistance, firefighters said. The cause of the rollover was not reported. After a short period of time, the scene was cleared, according to the fire department.
