A Mercer County high school teacher admitted to sexually assaulting a student multiple times times in a vehicle at a Monmouth County wildlife preserve, according to police paperwork obtained by Daily Voice. Jessica Sawicki, 37, of Point Pleasant, was arrested on Monday, Apr. 8, and charged with five counts of second-degree sexual assault and five counts of second-degree endangering the welfare of a child. Two men were accused of having a loaded gun and items used for selling drugs during a traffic stop in Atlantic City, authorities said. Isaiah Butler, 23, of Atlantic City, and 22-year-old James Gallaway of Millville were arrested on Monday, Apr. 15, the Atlantic City Police Department said in a news release. A Camden County man was shot and injured in a shooting in Atlantic City, authorities said. Atlantic City police responded to a ShotSpotter alert on the first block of South Bellevue Avenue at around 8:49 p.m. on Monday, Apr. 15, the department said in a news release. Three people were without a home and a firefighter was injured after a house caught fire in Ocean City, officials said. Ocean City firefighters responded to the fire on the 1400 block of Simpson Avenue at around 4:46 p.m. on Monday, Apr. 15, the city said in a news release. According to the outage map for Jersey Central Power & Light, 1,172 customers in Wall Township and 920 customers in Belmar lost service as of 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Apr. 16.
