Single Family Home Sales Surge 18 Percent In Putnam PUTNAM COUNTY, N.Y. -- Single family home sales rose by more than 18 percent in Rockland County compared to the third quarter in 2015, according to report from the Hudson Gateway Association of Realtors. Single family home sales rose 18.5 percent in Putnam County in the HGAR report, which also incorporates Westchester, Orange and Rockland counties. For the four-county region, sales rose 7 percent compared to the third quarter in 2015. For the year, sales in all four counties are 15 percent higher than last year. West Nyack's McNamara A Fan Favorite, Cult Hero At Nycfc NYACK, N.Y. -- Thomas McNamara bandied about like a soccer ball during a three-week stretch late in 2014. In a span from Nov. 19 through Dec. 10 of that year, three teams owned the contract of the West Nyack native and former Don Bosco Prep soccer star. Surprisingly, and fortunately, McNamara ended up with team closest to home. He is in the midst of his second season with New York City FC, where he has started 27 of 29 games at midfield and scored five goals. Bridgeport Basketball Star Lands Pro Deal In Italy BRIDGEPORT, CONN. -- Bridgeport native Brandon Sherrod, a graduate of Yale University, has found a home to begin his professional basketball career. Sherrod, a first team All-Ivy selection for the Bulldogs last winter, has signed with MEC Energy Roseto in Italy's Serie A2 League.
