Church Needs Help Refilling Food Pantry FAIR LAWN, N.J. – Saint Anne, a Roman Catholic church in Fair Lawn, says it’s food pantry is bare and it desperately needs donations of staples like canned vegetables and laundry detergent. The church’s next distribution date is coming up, it said, and it has “nothing to give to our families in need.” The most essential items it would like to see donated are: hot and col cereals, canned fruits and vegetables, pastas and pasta sauces, macaroni and cheese, and laundry detergent. Woman Charged With Stealing, Forging Checks From Amenia Business AMENIA, N.Y. -- A Millerton woman faces forgery charges after an Amenia business reported the theft of several checks, state police said. Madison L. Marshall, 25, was arrested on Tuesday, Dec. 8, and charged with second-degree forgery and second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument, both Class D felonies, police said. State troopers had been contacted on Thursday, Dec. 3, by the Armenia resident reporting the theft. Scarsdale Volunteer Ambulance Corps Offers EMT Certification Course SCARSDALE, N.Y. – The Scarsdale Volunteer Ambulance Corps is offering a five-month emergency medical technician certification course starting in January.The 138-hour course, to be given at the corps’ Weaver Street headquarters, follows the state curriculum. Students do not need to have prior medical knowledge, the corps said. Students will be taught everything from trauma and medical emergency fundamentals to the pathophysiology of diseases.
