Lake Road Railroad Crossing Closed For Repairs Wednesday In Congers CONGERS, N.Y. -- The railroad crossing at Lake Road in Congers will be closed for repairs, starting Wednesday morning, Sept. 14. The Clarkstown Police Department has passed on the news from CSX railroad, which will be working on the crossing, beginning at 9 a.m. Wednesday. It could be closed through Thursday. Briarcliff HS Faculty Complete 'Mental Health First Aid' Course BRIARCLIFF MANOR, N.Y. -- Briarcliff High School faculty and teaching assistants made students' mental health a focus by completing an eight-hour "Mental Health First Aid" course before students returned to school. Hounds Are Coming To The Sound MAMARONECK, N.Y. -- Mamaroneck is hosting the 8th annual Hounds on the Sound Dog Walk & Festival Sunday, Oct. 9. The family-friendly event invites dogs to enjoy the festivities at a local park and raises money for local shelters. Hundreds of walkers and their dogs will take a leisurely stroll around the perimeter of Harbor Island Park. Enjoy Food, Crafts, Drafts At Suffern Street Fair SUFFERN, N.Y. -- The Suffern Chamber of Commerce is hosting its September Crafts & Drafts Street Fair this Sunday. The spring version, in April, drew about 20,000 people, the chamber said. It featured 175 vendors, a beer and wine garden, live music and a Kidz Zone.
