Chapel School Campers Become Animal Ambassadors
BRONXVILLE, N.Y. -- Local kids got a change to appreciate diversity -- and get up-close with a variety of creatures -- at Animal Embassy camp for a week this August, at the Chapel School program."Whether they have fur, feathers, fins or scales, animals come in many different forms, just like their human counterparts," organizers noted. Happy Birthday To Suffern's Valerie Harper
SUFFERN, N.Y. -- Happy birthday to Suffern's Valerie Harper.
The actress is turning 77 on Monday.
Harper was born on Aug. 22, 1939 in Suffern, but she and her family moved regularly, since her father was a lighting salesman.
Harper is best known for her role of Rhoda Morgenstern, which she played for over a decade, first on "The Mary Tyler Moore Show," then in its spinoff, "Rhoda." Between the two shows, she won four Primetime Emmys and a Golden Globe award.
