James O'Meara, 77, Former Dumont Resident
DUMONT, N.J. -- James O'Meara -- a resident of Ormond Beach, Florida, formerly of Dumont -- died on Friday, March 10. He was 77.
Born in Washington Heights, O'Meara was a foreman at Goldberg's Shoe & Slipper Factory of Hackensack. He was a member of the Dumont Elks and the Hackensack Moose.
He is survived by his children, Stacie, Thomas and his wife Denine, and Brig. Gen. James "Scott" and his wife Angela; eight grandchildren; and sister Margaret Zuretti.

Marie McCoshen, 92, Fairview Resident
FAIRVIEW, N.J. -- Marie McCoshen, of Fairview, died on Sunday, March 12. She was 92.
Before she retired, McCoshen had a long and successful career as a bookkeeper, working at Tootsie Roll in Hoboken as well as David Burr in Union City.
"While living in North Bergen, she was involved in local politics and proudly manned the election booths in her later years," information from the funeral home noted. "In recent years, Marie was an enthusiastic member of the Fairview Seniors, enjoying frequent bus trips to Atlantic City and the Poconos."

Salvatore P. Albanese, 78, Dumont Resident
DUMONT, N.J. -- Salvatore P. Albanese, of Dumont, died on Sunday, March 12. He was 78.
Born in Brooklyn, Albanese was a proud Army veteran. He earned a bachelor's degree in art, and he was a graphic designer in New York City.
He is survived by his sister, Josephine Negro; nephew Harry Peter Negro; niece Theresa Negro; and many cousins. He was preceded by his parents, Angelina (Cottone) and Peter Albanese.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 16, at Evergreen Cemetery, in Brooklyn. Frech-McKnight Funeral Home, in Dumont, is assisting with arrangements.
Maria 'Mary' Scolaro, 81, Elmwood Park Resident
ELMWOOD PARK, N.J. -- Maria "Mary" (Bellaera) Scolaro, of Elmwood Park, died on Saturday, March 11. She was 81.
Born in Pozzallo, Ragusa, Sicily, Scolaro arrived in Hackensack at the age of 12. She lived there for 10 years, then in Elmwood Park for seven and Parsippany for nine, before finally settling in Elmwood Park.
"She was a homemaker and amazing cook," information from the funeral home noted.

CLIFFSIDE PARK, N.J. -- James W. Quinn, of Cliffside Park, died on Monday, March 13. He was 89.
Born in Queens, Quinn was a Navy veteran of World War II. Before he retired, he was vice president of communications at Citi Corp. in New York City.
He was a member of the Ridgefield Park Elks for 30 years, and he volunteered as secretary for the group from 2000-2013.

EDGEWATER, N.J. -- Odette Sader, of Edgewater, died on Sunday, March 12. She was 62.
Born in Lebanon, Sader came to the United States in 1987. She had worked as a crossing guard in Edgewater and she was a homemaker.
