Accident On I-95 North In Fairfield Slows Wednesday Commute Update: The accident has been cleared, but the backups remain on I-95.  FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- An accident on Interstate 95 northbound in Fairfield is blocking one lane of the highway Wednesday at the height of the afternoon rush hour. The accident occurred at about 4:30 p.m. between Exits 22 and 23. The collision involved a tractor-trailer and a car. The accident jammed the roadway all the way back to Stamford.  On the Merritt Parkway, a disabled truck at Exit 44 slowed southbound traffic. That incident occurred around 4:30 p.m. as well.
