Hadsell was born Oct. 11, 1946,  the younger of two daughters born to the late John Joseph Grassi and Edith Tozzoli Grassi.  A lifelong Stamford resident, Gail graduated from Rippowam High School in 1964, after which she worked at The History Book Club as a keypunch operator for 14 years. Gregory Nelson, 29, was charged with assault, breach of peace and intimidation based on bigotry and bias after the dispute, police said. Officers responded to an assault in progress at 35 Main St. at Price Rite, police said. A male victim told officers that Nelson was playing street hockey in the parking lot and assaulted him, police said. Merritt Closed In Greenwich Due To Morning Accident GREENWICH, Conn. -- The Merritt Parkway northbound was closed in Greenwich on Wednesday morning due to an accident shortly after 8 a.m., according to the Connecticut Department of Transportation.  The accident involved an overturned vehicle and occurred between Exits 27 and 28 on the northbound side of the Merritt. DOT said the crash involved two vehicles.  There was no indication when the incident would be cleared. Motorists should expect long delays in the area, DOT said.

Freshman Victoria Goncalves won the 99-pound weight class championship with a 16-1 technical fall over Wilton wrestler Finn McGovern in the championship bout. Norwalk Mad Bulls Crown 3 State Wrestling Champions NORWALK, Conn. -- The Norwalk Mad Bulls youth wrestling team sent a team record of six wrestlers to the state finals and crowned three champions. Colin Falla, Ryan Monti and Sam Nieves of the Mad Bulls all won state titles in the tournament at Westhill High School in Stamford.  Nicky Singer, Mike Marini and Quincy Carter finished second.
