Police Investigating Afternoon Shooting In Western Mass Police in Hampden County are investigating a shooting in broad daylight on Monday, March 30.  Springfield police were called to an area near the intersection of Cornell and Harvard streets just after 5 p.m. to reports of a shooting. They found a man on the ground with a bullet wound. Paramedics took the victim to Baystate Medical Center for treatment, and his injuries are considered not life-threatening, Springfield police said.  Detectives are investigating the incident.
