1 Dead, Another Injured In Lowell House Fire: 'Sad Day For Our Community' A man was killed and another person was hurt when a fire tore through a Lowell late Saturday night, March 16.  Multiple neighbors called 911 to report heavy smoke pouring from the back of the house at 114 Farmland Road just after 10:45 p.m., the State Fire Marshal's Office said.  Firefighters kicked in the front door and fought their way upstairs, where they found the man's body. Child Foils Kidnapping Attempt While Playing In Their Backyard In Lexington A man wearing a ski mask tried to kidnap a child as they played in their backyard in Middlesex County on Thursday afternoon, March 14, and police are asking residents for help.  The alleged incident happened at a home on Wood Street in Lexington around 2 p.m.  The elementary school-aged child said they were playing when a man in all black with his face hidden by a mask grabbed her from behind and put a hand over their mouth, police said.  The kid was able to break free and run away. Woman Found Dead At Ashby Home The Middlesex District Attorney's Office announced on Thursday, March 14, that police in Ashby found the body of a woman earlier that day.  Police were called to the home on Richardson Road just before 1 p.m. to reports of an unresponsive woman. Officers arrived and found the 58-year-old woman dead outside the home, the DA's office said.  Investigators do not suspect foul play, and her death does not appear to be suspicious. The prosecutor's office said police do not believe there is a threat to the community.  Ashby police are investigating the incident.
