Field Library Hosts Foster Care Information Session
PEEKSKILL, N.Y. -- The Field Library will hold a foster care information session on Jan. 25 and Jan. 27. A representative from the United Way of Westchester and Putnam will provide information to any prospective parents interested in fostering a local kid. Prospective parents should call 211 for more information on fostering and pre-screening. Stamford Police Seek Suspect In Theft From Car
STAMFORD, Conn. -- Stamford Police are seeking information regarding a theft from a motor vehicle in late December. An unknown suspect stole a duffel bag from an unlocked delivery vehicle at 87 Atlantic St. at 11:02 p.m. Dec. 28. Anyone with information regarding the suspect should contact Sgt. Sean Scanlan at the Stamford Police Department Property Crimes Unit at 203-977-5828. Informants may also make an anonymous tip by phone and inbox the Stamford Police Department Facebook page. Learn To Save Energy, Money At Pleasant Valley Library
PLEASANT VALLEY, N.Y. -- Pleasant Valley Free Library will hold a workshop on saving energy Tuesday Presented by Cornell Cooperative Extension Dutchess County, the workshop will provide tips on saving energy and lowering bills with low or no-cost conservation actions. Attendees will receive free energy efficient light bulbs. Space is limited, and registration is required by emailing plvprograms@yahoo.com. The workshop runs from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Holt's crime novel follows a group of train passengers that become secluded in a hotel where two murders occur following a massive blizzard. RAMAPO, N.Y. -- Ramapo's Minisceongo Golf Club has been sold, according to The Journal News. The financial terms and new owner are undisclosed at this time, The Journal News reported. Eastchester Switches To New Emergency Notification System
EASTCHESTER, N.Y. -- The Town of Eastchester has a new emergency notification that can send messages in various ways. Through Swift911, Eastchester can send messages through emails, texts and voice calls. The old system will be deactivated on March 1. Residents can choose the format as well as the different types of alerts they would like to receive. Types of alerts include library, recreation, senior programs, assessor and tax notices.
